Lock hardware for self-storage facilities
New-site fit-out, replacement supply, tenant lock programmes and overlock routines — supplied against a specification that survives the next re-order.
What facility operators ask us for
The jobs that come up again and again, and the hardware each one needs.
- New site fit-out
- Unit locks, cylinders, overlock hardware and a key plan, as one package.
- Replacement supply
- Cylinders and padlocks matched to the doors you already have.
- Tenant lock programme
- Selling or issuing locks at move-in, with your logo on them.
- Overlock and lockout
- Hardware for vacant units and delinquent accounts.
- Key management
- Keyed-alike, keyed-different and master-key structures, including manager overlocks.
- Maintenance spares
- Latches, hasps and mounting hardware for roll-up door repair.
- Keyless access
- Bluetooth and fingerprint padlocks for sites that would rather not issue tenant keys or chase them at move-out. Mechanical key backup and app-based access records.
Running a multi-site standard
The hard part is not buying locks — it is keeping every site, and every future replacement, on the same specification.
What we set up with you
- A documented unit lock specification, with photos and cylinder size
- A key plan per site, and a group-level rule for manager keys
- A re-order path, so a cylinder ordered in three years still matches the original keys
- A single point of contact for replacement orders
Honest constraints
- MOQ from 500 pcs for the mechanical families · from 50 pcs for smart padlocks — below that, we will tell you rather than take the order and struggle.
- Sample lead time from 5 days; batch production around 30 days.
- Where a requirement needs a new mold, we quote tooling separately before starting.
- Stock availability changes — we confirm the current position per model rather than listing everything as in stock.
Typical facility configuration
An example of how the families combine across one site. Your actual configuration is confirmed against a door sample.
| Location | Hardware family | Typical requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tenant unit door (hasp) | Disc padlock or combination padlock | One per unit; keyed alike within a group or keyed different per unit. |
| Tenant unit door (cylinder) | Cylinder lock | Matched cylinder size; keyed to the site plan. |
| Roll-up door | Latch, hasp and mounting hardware | Matched to the door profile and mounting-hole pattern. |
| Vacant or delinquent unit | Overlock plate or lockout bracket | Clears the lock body and track through the full swing. |
| Manager access | Master key or manager key | Opens every unit on site, or every site in a group. |
| Maintenance store | Spare cylinders, latches, springs | Replacement parts at the same specification as installed hardware. |

Facility operator questions
We run several sites. How do we keep the specification consistent?
We write the specification down: cylinder size, lock model, finish, keying rule and a photo set. Every later order is produced against that record, so a cylinder bought three years from now still matches the keys your tenants hold.
Can you supply a mix of locks, latches and overlock hardware in one shipment?
Yes. Mixed orders are consolidated in Wenzhou, which is normally cheaper and simpler than coordinating several suppliers into one container.
What if our requirement is below MOQ?
We will tell you rather than take the order and struggle. For sample or trial quantities we can often supply from production stock — availability is confirmed per model.
We are converting an existing building. Where does the work start?
With a door survey. The door decides the locking point and the locking point decides the hardware, so measure first and specify second. Send the survey photos and we will confirm the hardware per door type.
What changes between an indoor facility and a drive-up site?
Exposure. The model often stays the same while the material and the finish change, so an indoor corridor and an exposed drive-up row can need two specifications from a single order.
Do you supply container and portable-storage operators?
Yes, where the unit doors use a hasp or a cylinder cut-out. Send the door type and the mounting dimensions and we will confirm which families fit that door.
